I have a word I want you all to say with me… Tzatziki. Come on try again, but this time sound it out, tsah-ZEE-kee. You see that wasn’t so bad. 🙂
Have you ever tried Tzatziki sauce? It’s a classic Greek yogurt sauce made with fresh garlic, cucumber, lemon juice, garlic salt, and black pepper. It is sooooo yummy. Everytime I would go to the Coconut Grove Arts Festival in Miami, my parents and I would always get a Gyro and tztziki sauce would be inside. It was absolutely delicious. In the restaurant, at Crêpe Royale, I knew I wanted to create a new sauce to have for our savory crepes. When we tested this sauce we knew we found a winner.
I hope you guys feel the same way with this recipe, especially when you pour it on top of this delicious steak gyro.

Ingredients
2 teaspoons of Greek seasoning (recipe follows)
Black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup onion, sliced
1/2 cup tomatoes, chopped
1 1/2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
4 teaspoons of crumbled feta cheese
4 pita breads
Tzatziki Sauce:
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 medium freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 medium cucumber, peeled
3 large garlic cloves, minced
Garlic Salt, to taste
Black Pepper, to taste
Instructions
For tzatziki sauce:
Peel skin off cucumber. Then cut in half, length wise. Using a spoon, scrape out seeds. Finely shred or mince cucumber and place in paper towels and squeeze out extra moisture.
Then combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, shredded cucumber, garlic, garlic salt, and pepper. Refrigerate in a air tight container for 1 hour before serving.
For Steak:
In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, sear the steak on both sides, then lower the heat and cook through until done to desired taste. Remove steak from skillet and allow to rest, while you sauté the onions.
Brush pita bread with olive oil and warm in a skillet over medium heat. Then start layering… feta, steak, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and tztaziki sauce.
Enjoy!
