As I sit here after having two weeks off of work, spending time with my kiddies and just taking 2014 all in I realize that each and every year I make such a huge deal with resolutions and what I need to change or fix.
You all know what I mean, “I need to lose weight, I need to be more active, I need to make more money, I nee to spend more time with my family, I want to strengthen my faith…” the list is pretty endless actually.
Today in church one of our pastors spoke about how a “New Year” so many want a “New You”. One of the most important things we fail to realize is that it’s not a New You we should be worrying about… We should really want to better ourselves not change who we are. Allow yourself to leave all the baggage, pain, whatever you felt was holding you down or back in 2014 and look ahead to 2015 to being reborn.
One of the passages that was shared this morning was:
” Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
To 2015, may it be filled with laughter, love & life!
