Start by turning the oven on 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl beat 1 stick of unslated butter, softened and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Add 1 large egg. Mash three ripened bananas, then add them to the sugar and butter mixture.
Next, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour, the baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix all of these ingredients together.
Last, add the 1/2 cup of milk and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Butter and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan. Pour the mixture in the buttered pan and place in the oven. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. When the banana bread is done baking take out and set to cool before slicing.
